Giovanni Imparato is the longest-serving player in the Sunlightsquare story after Claudio himself, on congas, timbales and batá from 2005 onwards. Bomba Cuba is his album. He recorded it at Studio 4 of Radio Rebelde in Havana with twelve musicians from the local scene, among them Ignacio "El Chispa" Cervantes on bass, Luis Amaurys Leyva Suárez on tres and trumpeters Yanko Pizaco and Alexander Valdés Sarduy. Claudio played piano and co-produced it for the label. Its eleven songs draw on Santería, travel and the rhythms of Havana. It came out in June 2012, and the CD is still available on Bandcamp.
