Heart's Desire / Theme De Yoyo
Sunlightsquare
Don Blackman and the Art Ensemble of Chicago, in an Afro-Cuban key.
A summer 12-inch built from two records in Claudio Passavanti's collection. Side A is Don Blackman's Heart's Desire, sung in English and Spanish by Tasita D'Mour and René Alvarez. Side B is Theme De Yoyo, the Art Ensemble of Chicago piece by Lester Bowie and his bandmates, given to Vanessa Freeman. Ernesto Simpson plays drums, Giovanni Imparato percussion, Quentin Collins trumpet and Brandon Allen saxophone, with Claudio on piano, Rhodes and bass. It was recorded at The Way Studio in London with engineer Luke Buttery and released in July 2012. Jazzie B, Mr Scruff and BBC Radio 3's Jez Nelson all backed it.

The feel of this summer!
2 great covers of classic tunes, full of life & sunshine!
Killer Latin version of Theme De Yoyo
An outstanding piece of music… Something incredible, the sounds of Sunlightsquare taking on Don Blackman. Oh my gosh!
I loved the refix of I Believe In Miracles but this latinisation of Don Blackman's Heart Desire is fantabulous
Sumptuous
